Steps You Can Take To Protect Yourself

If you are looking to talk to someone to discuss abuse or neglect in your household, it could make sense to reach out to a guidance counselor at school, a trusted teacher or another trusted adult in your life who can help you to find the resources that you need and help you to summarize best what is going on in case you end up talking to local or state counselors about your case.

There are other forms of support as well. In support groups, children and teens get together to work through specific problems in their home. Friendships and relationships can be great gifts in life, but there are situations when friends and partners have intentions that do not put your best interests first. You deserve to be treated with respect and care. If you aren't sure about the health of a friendship or relationship, talk to a qualified individual to work through it by texting or calling 1-866-331-9474. If texting, text "loveis" to the number. You can also visit the OneLove Foundation website for information on what healthy relationships look like.
